Lily’s Valley

(sold)

“Lily’s Valley” started as a live painting. I wanted to incorporate my long lost love for sewing. In this piece I implement layering and adding texture with needle and thread. I initially picked this touch back up with “Bystanders” and with this one, the fabrics I cut, painted and added were very subtle, as I'm still experimenting. I think it adds just the right amount of depth without clashing too much with the details/contrast in her skin/hair. Playing with the sky tones in her skin and human silhouettes throughout to create kind of an abstract valley was so fun and I’m excited to experiment even further with these touches in a future piece.
