These eyes were a part of my solo show last year and they feature some of the reacurring suns and moons in this collection. They symbolize the three things we can look up to and rely on seeing/feeling every day, especially when we at times feel overwhelmed, when we feel that we don't have the support we need...
The sun, the moon and ourselves.
I hand cut each piece of birch wood, freehand the painting, then resin pour over top, and finally I attach LED lights to the back to create a back lit glowing effect.
Creating these were some of the most challenging but rewarding pieces I've made with resin and I can't wait to do more!
